Had a very nice Christmas at Karen’s house in Milton Keynes. She made a wonderful turkey and should be proud of herself.

I got ill last tuesday which took me off work and although I’m back it’s left me with a very sour coughy throat which has been keeping me up. Ate a nice turkey dinner in the cowheards and that seems to have given me some food poisoning, keeping me up.

I could just sleep on this desk now.

Amy reminded me yesterday that I haven’t blogged in a while so I thought that I would do it now.

It is 10:15 and I’ve just spent 45 minutes on my own doing some kung fu in an empty room in the union building and I’m now upstairs on the caf? pcs. At 12 it is my grading where I’ll be going for an orange sash. I have no doubts that I will get it* but you still have to wonder if you are going to make a fool out myself.

* I’m not being cocky, it’s just that the instructors are really nice. As long as they have seen you do what you need to do in the past they will use that experience instead of what they have just seen.

Karen, I got your plant. I thought to start with you can just sent me a load of polystyrene there was so much. When I get back home I’ll take a picture for ‘before’ as it’s got a lot of growing to so (it grows into the shape of a cat).

Work has got a little more interesting now. Dave Price (see the latest photos) has now left and we have 4 people in his place. 3 do shifts in the morning and are from ISS (the universities central IT people that don’t ever mix with the acutal teaching) and a temp who was very much like me, good at computers but never seen them linked together before. Hopefully he’ll pick it up as quick as I did.

That’ll do, I’ve nearly finished my Ginsters Ham and Mozzarella bake.

Oh and click on my adverts sometimes, I get money.

Apparently the main computing people at our university are taking note that people don’t seem to trust them so they are sending people into the school to replace Dave for a few months to see how the little people work.

At least I should have some cover!

Had a very nice time in Cardiff this weekend and was in Hull the weekend before.

Hopefully we’ll get a lie in next time round!

Christmas shopping should be all but done. Just Amy to go. Mustn’t… leave… it… until… Christmas… eve…

Got myself a google ad account. It’s really clever but normally wrong on what’s on the page.

I might surprise myself soon enough with what it tries to sell!

Dave (other IT guy) has his leaving date now. 2nd December. Apparently I will have cover, which is nice.

First academic actually asked if I was going for his job the other day. Everyone else was busy making sure that I wouldn’t be looking after the whole building and she was the only one who wondered if I was going to go up the ranks and apply for his job.

Had a good weekend this week, without Tai Chi though

I have a lot more clothes because BHS had a 20% off everything sale and one of the buildings at the uni blew up.
