I’m working on a new flash menu at the moment. However I’m blatently cheating and bought one rather than spending a week making one myself.
Looks like this at the moment. It’s just nice, the menus bob close and open.

I’ve found out that the show/hide things in my menu are the reason that I cannot add new pages. So it looks messy, but they are disabled.
I’ll try and find a better way of doing it sometime soon.
IOW pictures added and the link is somewhere on the left.
Genetically modified pooch anyone?
Two posts down it says that I moved hosts. Doing that has broken my ability to make new pages (well not make them but to make them appear on any menu to be selected). So photos might be delayed a bit longer than I hoped.
… has gone by and there is nearly nothing been added to this site. Sorry.
Well I’ve got some got my pictures together and a new image program and I want to try and get some more things on here.
I’ve been doing some fun things at work that I would like to throw into my work examples and even if it is “I’m fine” I think I’d prefer it here.
Work has got me doing some more PHP programming so I’ll might add a feature or two. I’m still not greatly happy with the menu on the left and I think it would be great for you guys to get an email alert when this site is updated.
First post thought is about the new Paint Shop Pro. I’ve just bought it amazingly cheaply on an educational licence and I cannot find anything that is missing from Photoshop (which costs £700) and this is over 90% cheaper.
Photo below is from the isle of wight. The left side is the picture taken from my camera (i.e. a big black square) and the right side is what PSP 11 has recovered from it.
Notice the difference? No? That’s because it’s exactly the same!!!
Anyway, the new site is up and I’m going to try and get some more stuff on it this week. Basically I’m addicted to a computer game called world of warcraft and I’ve given myself a break from it (well I locked myself out of it) this week so I can spend some time doing my photographs and things.
Amy has written a small line of code that will allow me to just upload a photograph and it will make all the thumbnails for me. Should make life a lot easier.
Also, as I have moved host, my email works again. Horray! It’s in New York. Can you tell?
Sorry for the lack of posting, I have some blog entries for when I was on holiday but I haven’t typed them up. I’ll put them in as if they were written a month ago and post a note at the top.
In the mean time I’m programming some PHP and have found two things stright out of star trek. The first is ‘Temporal Data’ and the second is ‘Multidimentional Arrays’. I promise I’m not making this up.
At the moment I can’t log into this site so I would presume that no-one else can either, hopefully it should fix itself soon. [Edit] All is better now
Well after a few months it seems that we have the website back. They only managed to give me the site and not the database (all the looks are in the site and all of the words, menus, news postings are in the database) but I took a backup in March of that so it’s close enough. If I posted something after that then I’m afraid it’s gone.
I’ll try and catch up later.
I think I prefer quiet days. Last week my multimedia computer’s hard drive died and I lost all the stuff on it. Had to get a new hard drive* and reinstall windows on it. Not fun.
* I know some people I know use the term ‘hard drive’ to refer to the whole computer, in this case it was just the drive that holds the data.
So this week the server which holds all the data on it for the whole of humanities died. We started working on it at about 10am and I left work at 8pm. Of course it still wasn’t done and I’m still working on it now. Most fun
I’ve also just heard that a spanish computer isn’t booting with an NTLDR error. You don’t want one of these messages as it basically means you’ve lost everything and need to start again.
So what’s next to break? We didn’t get the accommodation we wanted on our holiday and were forced to get a bigger room with suppliments to go the place we wanted at the time we wanted.
On a lighter note Amy’s parents popped down for an hour on their way from devon to Hull (maybe a ruler might be good for them for Christmas so they can see what ‘straight’ is, hehe) and Amy has been baking lots of cakes, which are grudingly being shared around people at uni.
3 buses coming at once you say?
Sorry I haven’t been posting lately. I have a storming headache.
